Some Kind of Solace, Eve Buckley’s debut EP, is a resting place created amongst the peaks and troughs of navigating life and entering womanhood in your 20s. Landing powerfully with a mature and elegant sound, rich layered horns flow into sentimental guitars, dusty pianos and intimate vocals, unravelling grounding reflections through the lens of Eve’s alt-soul soundscape. Offering honest vulnerability and a sense of nostalgia, her first body of work serves to wrap listeners in the solace Eve found through its creation.
For the first time Eve Buckley music is exclusively released to limited edition Gold Cassette Tape (1 of 50)
Combining a rich hybrid of alternative soul and jazz-infused pop, her timeless vocals and sentimental soundscapes are reminiscent of inspirations including Lianne La Havas, Jordan Rakei, and Yazmin Lacey. Meeting producer Alex Williams at University in Leeds marked the beginning of a unique collaboration to create Eve’s authentic recorded sound rooted in elegant writing and luscious production introduced in her debut EP. Her debut singles have received airplay from BBC Introducing, making her their ‘Artist of the Week’, as well as Jazz FM, with Tongue Tied making their ‘B-List’ and naming Eve as ‘one to watch - a really bright future ahead’ and ‘one of the best voices’ they’ve ‘heard in years’ (Simon Phillips and Tony Minvielle, Jazz FM).
Spotify have continued to support her releases, adding her singles to 6 editorial playlists including ‘New Music Friday UK’ and ‘Jazz UK’, as well as Fresh On The Net crowning Tongue Tied as their ‘Track of the Week’. Dead Good Music also claimed Big Shot to be ‘one of the boldest singles’ heard this year.
